Best: Living close to

Best: Living close to Lincoln Park.

Worst: Not nearly enough people gather there on nice days.

one of the best things about

one of the best things about living here is the diversity on many levels and the community desire to nurture that diversity.

the block clubs and other groups that meet and mobilize to contribute to the ongoing betterment of quality of life issues....the various groups and individuals do not always agree...but the dialogue always continues toward a conclusion no matter how long it takes..

the artist community is one of the two main things that attracted my lifes partner and I here in the late 80's

obviously , not lastly, the tavern & restaurant community is a great local asset

the local business establishemts are unique and interesting.

there are alot of reasons we like it here !

Hey--I like that.

Hey--I like that. Spitballing. The best part of living near Tremont (check out www.brooklyncentre.org) is LINCOLN PARK. I swim laps there every summer (for over 10 years now) and enjoy the outdoor events scheduled in the summer. Now, if we could get something a little closer to my home. I also swim at Meyers Pool, which is a perfectly nice little pool, too. I talked to Tim Donovan at OCC about attracting a residential hotel for Steelyards. Such a facility could feature a lap worthy pool for families visiting the area for vacations/recreation via the CVNP, docs working Metro and locals who would buy a pass to use the facility. Next would be the food--you folks in Tremont are lucky to have a choice in dining establishments, but you don't have a grocery. Say what you will about ALDI's, but it is convenient to be able to pick up milk, yogurt, local produce etc. cheap and on-the-fly. So, when you get tired of paying rent and you want to buy in Cleveland (close enough to Tremont to still have fun), check out my neighborhood (I lived in Tremont for seven years, so I can compare). The air is better over here and we keep our in-fighting to a miniumum:)

Well, it's not quite true

Well, it's not quite true about not having grocery anywhere - the West Side Market is less than a mile away . . . and in Steelyard, grocery is found in Wal Mart.

Or you can stop on Ridge I - 480 in Brooklyn or 480 &Transportation Blvd, Garfield heights where there are Grocery Stores, and then there is DAVE'S in Ohio City (again, less than a mile away.) Brecksville (15 minutes away) has Heinins and Giant Eagle - W. 117th near Clifton - 10 or so minutes away offers another Heinins and more Giant Eagle stores.

And don't forget the Farmer's markets,Tremont on Sundays, and Ohio City on Fridays and Saturdays and these are found elsewhere too!

Quite true. I can walk to

Quite true. I can walk to ALDIs--a very short walk. Yes, I love the West side market. I went today, but I have to bike it and I always had to bike it or take the 81 in my day. Now you have a long walk or the circulator. RTA looks like it's going to take a hit.

BTW, Brooklyn Centre has a

BTW, Brooklyn Centre has a fresh stop on Thursdays, conveniently located in the Brooklyn Centre shopping plaza near the Huntington Bank. 4:30-7:00 p.m.

I'm wondering, when did

I'm wondering, when did Brooklyn Center become "Tremont?"

Does Tremont now go from Downtown to Independence? (North to South) and from E 100 to West 200? Gosh, the growth is amazing!

I am just fishing. There

I am just fishing. There are quite a few expats over here. I lived in Tremont for seven years. Also, the line is pretty blurry with Steelyards and Metro...you will have to agree there, n'est pas?

Has anyone ever defined the

Has anyone ever defined the borders of Tremont? No need to fish, I'm sure many are confused as to the real borders. I've heard that Tremont is 'isolated' by the freeways . . . which would not include Brooklyn Center, Goose Island, Metro . . . Hmmm . . . wish someone would explain all the ACTUAL boundries - so tired of hearing that "Tremont Business are Terrorized " as published in the Plain Dealer when the businesses in the "insolated Tremont" are not being terrorized. Steelyard was never in Tremont - but now, maybe it is . . . Maybe Storer Ave where I lived years ago when cows were at the end at W-65th is in Tremont now. And that would have made the Rollercade in Tremont too! (being sarcastic)

I give your neighborhood CDC

I give your neighborhood CDC and Joe Cimperman credit. You are organized and you put out good communication. The communication in Ward 15 sucks to put it bluntly. I drove around (I don't drive often) Ward 16 today and noticed a lot of streetscape improvement signs. We don't see that here and we certainly don't get friendly newsletters from the councilman or the CDC.
