Halloween- Trick or Treating

For the past couple of years I have taken my son to his grandmothers for trick or treating.  I'd really like to keep him in the neighborhood this year.  I'm trying to get an idea how active the nieghborhood is on Halloween.  Anyone with kids have any thoughts?

I've been told that last year my street had about 150 kids through the course of the night.

Yes, I have comments for

Yes, I have comments for you, try it next year. I live on 14th, which is very dead except for the newer residents. We go down to my sister's on 7th and it is like Halloween-land there. The homeowners decorate; lighting displays, smoke, scary music, a real nice vibe. There are lots of children trick-or-treating, it's safe, fun and funny. So, bitch about the tax-abatements if you will, but damn, they give out good treats with some of that extra money!!!
